Beautiful Book Covers Winners

Here's what you've been waiting for...the grand reveal of the winner of the book covers contest! I realized that it wouldn't really work to have multiple rounds, since there was a distinct winner from the form, so here are the top five. Thanks again for helping us decide on the most beautiful book cover! The runners up are in no particular order.

First Place

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

Cover artist: Yuta Onoda

I cannot argue with this pick. This cover is absolutely beautiful, and includes many elements from the story, including the paper birds and Fyrian the dragon. I love Luna's outfit, how they incorporated the lettering on the moon, and the color scheme. . The whole piece of art is so whimsical and poetic, and really encapsulates the book.

Runners Up

Amina's Voice by Hena Khan

 Cover artist: Abigail Dela Cruz

Cover designer: Krista Vossen

Amina's Voice

I'm so glad this book was a runner-up! I honestly bought it just because the cover was so gorgeous (and because the story sounded interesting, yes). The warm colors and beautiful leafy designs draw you in, and the whole cover is very calming and musical.

Mañanaland by Pam Muñoz Ryan

Cover artist: Paola Escobar

Cover designer: Marijka Kostiw

Mañanaland

You can almost smell the early fall air in this cover. There are so many hidden things in this cover that will reveal themselves as you read the book--how La Reina Gigante has a face emerging from the side, the bird flying into the sunset, and the silhouettes in the trees.

Nightlights by Lorena Alvarez

 Cover artist: Lorena Alvarez

Nightlights (Nightlights #1)

All those creepy eyes in the background...how the warm lettering contrasts with the cool night...the enchanting flowers that surround the clearing...I just want to walk right into this cover. And the magic doesn't stop there, because Nightlights is a graphic novel full of beautiful illustrations like this!

Willa of the Wood by Robert Beatty

Cover artist: Millie Liu

Willa of the Wood (Willa, #1)

This cover gives off very cool enchanted forest vibes. I love the little glowy lights dotted throughout, the messy and yet gorgeous lettering, and the greenery. The color scheme is so natural.
